Ann E. Holt Scholarship

Ann Holt has established a $1,000 scholarship, the Ann E. Holt Scholarship, in addition to the Elizabeth Lunde Family Scholarship, to help motivated students further their education.  She summarized her feelings about these scholarships simply: “It’s meaningful to think these scholarships might make a difference in someone’s life, but when I hear a recipient tell me that they want to make a difference – that’s what counts!”

Ann’s history in Lake City is significant to her.  Her mother, who graduated from Lincoln High School, was a Lunde, a family that homesteaded in Lake City generations ago.  Ann made regular and frequent trips to Lake City as a child and later with her children to visit grandparents, aunts and uncles.  Ultimately she spent time sailing on Lake Pepin with fond memories of many climbs on Sugar Loaf. Her annual visits continue.

“Lake City is a special place, a place of value and certainly good memories.  May it be so for everyone.”

Students interested in applying for the scholarship should contact Jessica Holst, Senior High School Counselor.
